Would you consider this as a cult classic?
Well it should be a consolation! It is really a good film but it's overlooked and way underrated and i think it deserves to be a cult classic.

shareThat whole era just had such great comic book films. They weren't dark and brooding, or drowning in reality they were just great lighthearted action adventure films! I think there is a small cult, otherwise the recent D23 expo for the 20th anniversary wouldn't have been such a success. Still though, it deserves a better Blu-ray release...

I could only name a handful of well done comic book films in the late 80s to early 90s. On those times, comic book adaptations are always made but did not acrually break into the box-office radar and Tim Burton's Batman films were i think the only big hits that time. But yeah, hopefully Rocketeer gained a cult following and i wish they could give this new life because Rocketeer was also a great comic book in itself.
sharei wish they could give this new life because Rocketeer was also a great comic book in itself. >>> Wasn't there talk of a remake a while back from Disney? Yes, there is still a page for it here, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2355786/combined, though nothing seems to be happening with it now. Here is an article from last year about it...http://collider.com/rocketeer-remake/. I don't know if a remake would be good or not, but I'd be interested in giving it a shot if they stayed true to the source. As good as this movie is, it did stray a bit here and there, especially by watering down Betty, Cliff, and Peevy!

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
This was one of the best of the early 1990's super hero films. I also liked the Phantom with Billy Zane and even the Shadow was pretty good.
Conquer your fear, and I promise you, you will conquer death.
At least...
