LEGO Gee Bee Z - plane featured in The Rocketeer

The yellow & black plane that was featured in The Rocketeer has been proposed for an official LEGO set.

It needs 10,000 votes to be made into an official LEGO set. It's free to vote and make a LEGO ID. If it gets 10,000 votes, LEGO reviews the concept to see if it would make a good LEGO set. If they approve it, LEGO designs the final product. Let's make this happen!

A Gee Bee would be neat, but if we're to get a Rocketeer set I'd rather have the Griffith Park Observatory and a little Rocketeer figure . Oh! And a Nazi zeppelin for him to blast off to, though I can't see that happening.

An actual Rocketeer set would be amazing. This was my original idea for the set, but when I read the history behind this plane, I thought it would be a fitting tribute to the pilot that lost his life trying to beat the world speed record, Lowell Bayles. The history behind the design of this plane and the design company is also very interesting. With LEGO Ideas sets, the instruction booklet includes extra information and the history that goes along with a project.

Excellent! Very worthy then. I hope it makes it.
