A classic.

Just bought this recently on DVD & I'm obsessed with it. I love the late 30's look, the great score, the tone & the Rocketeer costume also looks very cool.

How this movie wasn't massive in '91 I'll never know. I actually can't find a flaw with it. Pacing is good, acting is good, the flying scenes look incredible especially for '91 & despite it being a Disney film, it never insults it's audience.

I've always been at a loss as to why The Rocketeer wasn't a bigger hit. It wasn't a "known" property, and there weren't any big names attached, but coming on the heels of the Indiana Jones series and with comic book movies back en vogue at the time it should have done bigger business.

Even today it remains underrated. %61 on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.4 on IMDB? Come on!

I've loved this movie since 91. Just showed it to my 8 year old last night.
Still a quality flick. Probably in my top 5

It's an exceedingly entertaining and very good movie overall. Underrated for sure.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

It just got lost in the shuffle, being up against T2 and all. What a shame, as it really is an incredible movie.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

Just saw it yesterday for the first time. I rented just because it was a rainy day and the kids couldn't play outside. I think I liked it more than they did. Very surprised it wasn't a bigger hit.

Many of the people who love this movie also love Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004). It's not a Disney film, but it's cut from a similar cloth (late 1930's upbeat art deco retro sci-fi).

Absolutely it's a classic. I can't believe how well this movie has held up. All the kids in school hated this movie when it came out. IDK why. Even now i'm not sure the following even qualifies as cult film status. But it's a great movie.
