My problems about these remake remours...
So, according to AICN (not the best source of info, admittedly), 'an unlikely new hero emerges: a young AfricanâAmerican female pilot, who takes up the mantle of Rocketeer...'
Seems like this movie will be set in 1944, right in the heat of WW2... HOW many AA young women were active as pilots in WW2? I would suspect 'pretty much none', but I'm happy to be proved wrong in view of superior information...
I'm just disliking this new PC concept of a film I love.
Anyone who disliked the recent GHOSTBUSTERS remake was accused to misogyny. Personally, I quite liked the idea of the GB remake being made with women! Just not a film as crap as that one was...
Why is the new Rocketeer a black girl, especially when it seems to be so diversive to the proven history of the time? Is there any solid, intelligent reason for it? What does it have to do with her culture or background?
Wouldn't be somewhat better to find a new superhero role for a AA girl, not just shoehorn it into a studio picture that they the rights to and the executives thought 'yeah, let's go black and young, just because...'
Well, I guess that's me gonna get loads of posts about being a massive sexist and racist... đ
