Michael Bay should've studied up on this movie before making his overlong, overhyped, piece of sheeeeit "Transformers" films. ROBOT JOX is better than either of'em and it probably cost less than what the "Transformers" crew paid Megan Fox's hairdresser.
Pacific Rim sounds interesting in theory but it also seems like del Toro just ripped off some old anime called Gunbuster. That's a classic but 20 years later in movie live action form, I hope it's a little more sophisticated than that. Given del Toro's track record, who knows what it will be since his creations can be goofy or serious depending on the movie.
When directors make 'stuff for kids that adults can enjoy', like the director of Robot Jox said, the stuff is always forgettable. I barely even remember watching Robot Jox because I thought it was terrible, and I used to love giant robots.
Why can't you be a non-conformist like everyone else?
