I know its not Casino Royale or any blockbuster but I actually like movies with simple island themes like Island of the blue dolphins etc but for those who have seen this movie - is the 3.9 justified?

No it is not. Its a perfect movie for what it is ment for.
shareNo it is not. It is worse. It is completely unnecessary being a clone-copy of first part (which would in my opinion deserve much better rating than it got - and needed no sequel).
And great photography or cute animals (no worse than in part one) could be watched on Natinal Geographic, Discovery etc.
i never really listen to when movie people give it a high or low ranking cause they could be wrong.
i personally really liked this movie but i thought it could have shown more of them actually falling in love.
and i liked how they made it very different with the ship coming and that guy trying to rape her(ewew)
so yeah i dont really pay attention to what people rank it.
if it looks good i'll see it.
You can never have an opinion of your own if depending on others' comments. But if you trust someone his (but his alone, and not average 10000 people) information can help you save your time, or prevent you from missing something worth seing.
