One thing that annoyed me about the new house they used...
They seemed to have taken so much care to replicate the original house and motel from Universal City in Los Angeles, but they changed the steps down from the house to the motel. Considering how many times the previous three movies use those original steps you'd think they would have taken care to copy them properly, but they didn't.
Still, most casual movie-goers would never notice this isn't the same house. It's a pity they couldn't use the original house at the time, which is still standing in LA (although Universal have allowed other exterior sets to be built around it like the Boeing crash from War of the Worlds). Perhaps it was during that time when the original house had been removed before being rebuilt. Anyone know?
