Excellent review. IV is very different than II and III in all respects. Stefano's screenplay is full of plot holes and over the top, corny dialogue however the performances and Garris' visual direction makes up for it.

People are being too hard on Mick Garris. This movie would've been a lot worse had Perkins directed it (he wanted to).
