I tried to watch this film, and after a half hour I had to give up. I found it to be stagey and unnatural. There was nothing natural here except Kate Nelligan lighting a cigarette.

and it only gets more convoluted and unbelievable and overdone as it goes on. Smart move bookworm1...

Yes, phoney and contrived are the words-- insultingly so. There's a basis for a decent film here, however
