Tom's breakdown

This scene sure packs a wallop.

I love the way it starts, with Tom’s trying to deflect his pain with humor, something he’s always done, only this time it fails him. Through the smile, you hear his voice crack. He then joins Lowenstein on the couch, continuing to crumble, if only still gradually.

Then she gently touches his hand.

“I can feel your pain, Tom. I can feel it. Let yourself feel it.”

Then the tears flow. Hers and his.

And mine.

That was a powerful scene. I thought Barbra Streisand did a terrible job acting in and directing this movie, but that scene was good. Also, the scenes with Lila and Tom were good.
