Lila acting strangely
I always thought Lila was acting strangely before the escaped convicts even arrived at the house. Like she suspected something terrible was going to happen and was trying to distract the kids.
I think it was more that she got all manic when her husband wasn't around. She felt free and alive when he wasn't there to terrorize them.
