It wasn't snubbed because of jealousy/ resentment for Streisand

or because she's a woman.
She did a capable job as director, and pictures get nominated all the time without the director being nominated(and the reverse) It was lucky to receive a best picture nod. If an unknown directed it, it would still receive the same critique.

And yet, the DGA gave her a nomination...hmmm..and it received 7 Oscar nominations.. Best Picture..Actor, Nick Nolte, supporting actress..screenplay..cinematography, art decoration and score..so, yes she was snubbed.

Of course she was snubbed, only people that don't like Streisand will deny that fact.
