shareDo you know if this movie was in the cinema when it came out??? Was it a big hit at the time??
shareyes it was release at the cinema. but I don't remember if it was big as I was only 12 at the time. Don't think it would have been that big... some how. but I still love it. like many I had (have) a corey's movie's fetish hehehe
shareI dont think this movie ever made it to the cinemas in Australia and you'd have to ask yourself Otsy if it was a big hit in 1991, wouldnt people reminisce on what a great movie it was?
The movie sucked, definitely the worst movie Arquette has been in.
I didn't think it was a big hit back then. Though it appears to be some kind of a cult movie now. Corey Haim was a teen idol at the time anyway so i would imagine that all the teenagers that liked him would of went to the cinema to see it.
I kinda liked it anyway.

You're entitled to your opinion, knifeparty2004. But dare I suggest that "Prayer of the Rollerboys" may, in fact, have been one of Corey Haim's best films ever?
No, it never came to cinema's it was an original movie for Showtime or HBO. I remember when it premiered, my family was on a trip from Virginia to Wisconsin. At every motel we stopped off at they had free HBO or Showtime and we must have seen the movie 3-4 times.
shareI remember watching this on VHS back in '92 or something.
I didn't exactly feel the need to rewatch it. ;)
Yeah it's like Solarbabies, so bad that you actually like it!!!
shareThere are hundreds of movies that fit the "so bad it's good" genre, but "Rollerboys" is a particular type of bad that began around 1985 and seemed to die out around 1993. I call it the "post-apocalyptic-cyberpunk-teenidol-flick-with-facist-overtones" genre. Lots of films fit this: Class of 1999, Solarbabies, Alien from LA, Journey to the Center of the Earth (1993 version), Mindwarp, Roller Blade Warriors, Circutry man, Cyborg, American Cyborg, and many, many more.
I remember watching many of these poor excercises in cyberpunk late at night on Showtime and Cinemax during my adolecence. I watched them hoping for naked boobies, and was seldom dissapointed. Sitting through that dreck for such fleeting skin shots was excruciating. In retrospect, however, I believe that they built character.
Now look at what's happened! They have done away with gratuitus nudity in movies! PG-13 means nothing anymore! Even the "R" rating doesn't guarantee a single nipple! It's for this reason: young boys can look at boobies any time they want on that new-fangled internet. They can also see beaver, as well as any type of perversion you could possible imagine.
And the B-movie genre has suffered.

the movie is good dont know why people say its bad its one of the better haim movies
shareAt least you guys got to see boobies, it was harder for us gals to see dicks! Men make these movies and will only show boobies! We have to go on internet or get rated x movies to see dick!

I love this movie. My favorite part of the movie is at the roller boy party and Corey Haim is walking around looking so cool while Head Like A Hole by Nine Inch Nails is being played in the background. This was the best Corey Haim movie that came after he fell from popularity.
shareGary Lee was my favorite and Haim was gorgeous here too. It always reminded me of those roller things in "Return to Oz". Christoper Collet looked like them..Mmmmm..androgyny.
shareI love this movie!!!! Corey and Christoper are both great and so hot!! Its really hard to believe that Christoper Collet was in sleepaway camp. Anyone else watching the two coreys?
"Dressed in a fashion that's fitting to the inconsistencies of my moods, its times like these where silence means everything, and no one is to know about this"
Yes:]I watch "The Two Corey's" they're is a new episode tonight!Lol,I am only gonna watch this film because of Chris Collet.First i lied Corey Haim then i found this film and then when i found out that Paul from Sleepaway Camp played Gary Lee in it,I was like I am soooooo gettin' this film! Now i am into Chris Collet, not Corey Haim.I can't wait to get my copy in like 6 or 7 days!
