After Reeves gets his cover blown...

So when Reeves gets his cover blown and sees Swayze's eyes under the Reagan mask...he had to of known he was spotted. Wouldn't they have then taken him off the case and gave him police protection? Seems like he just went back to to work the next day, even after knowing that the bad guys knew who he was now. Please help explain, I don't get that part!

Of course. They also wouldn't have told him, hey go home cause the, now killers, know your real name and where you live. You just gotta like turn it all off dude but think far out there in the waves at the same time and it'll come to you.
