Is this a remake of the film "Marty"? The stories are similar.

Yes this is "Marty" all the way. They even tried to say that Ally Sheedy was "plain" as if to push that point. And the unbelievable negative characteristic for her was that she was shy??? But after date 1, not so much? Yes it was totally a remake... they only stopped short of calling the movie "Danny".
