Contrived

I've watched and enjoyed this movie numerous times.. A mixed of drama & laughs...
But this last time.. Got into it more than others. ?.
The core of this flick are the 3 characters.
Candy's & Sheeleys' seem real enough, but surprisingly it's o'Hara's character. The intial setup is ok.. but later on. Her reactions seem all contrived. Her turn-around seem real enough( in so far as her selfish motivations) .. If so then that's character's reaction with the wedding called off would've cause her to take proactive measures.. as a caring loving mom who would make sure her son's happiness was assured.. one way or the other.. Not just linger.
This last point suddenly took me out of the movie.
Still all in all... good to have seen all the actors in it..
