I really like this movie but...

Did anyone else think it was a little weird when Teresa got so upset that he called his mom to make sure she got home okay after the rehearsal dinner? I understood her being upset about things that went on before that but that particular incident seemed like a really odd thing for her to flip out over, especially since his mom had accepted her and they were getting married with no objections from her. Maybe it's just me but I felt like his mom had gotten over her meanness at that point so it seemed bizarre for Teresa to get that upset and stand him up at the altar over THAT.

Just watched this again for the first time in about 15 years.
I understand where you are coming from, and why Teresa could have possibly let it go.
But I don't think it Danny's Mum being over her meanness towards Teresa was the main issue.
It was whether Danny could let go of his strong attachment to his mother that bothered her.

I think one of the main reasons why people who get engaged and split before they get married,
is because of something they see in particular from the other person, like a glimpse into what they're future will be like.
She had already seen the hold Danny's mum had on him before they were engaged, but for both Teresa and Danny
to be truly happy, she had to believe that Danny would not only put their relationship first, but he had to also believe that his Mum would be fine without him.

There would be no point really in Danny's Mum accepting Teresa as her "daughter", if she still was going to be a burden
on Danny's life. That's just the way I saw it.

Yeah, I see your point.
