Texas Chainsaw Comedy

Does anyone here think this movie shares (or was inspired by) the Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Franchise 1-3)? I've always gotten the vibe watching Nothing but Trouble as I do with the first three TCM movies.

Whether calculated or not, we have a large house full of clutter, surrounded by a car lot that's cluttered. We have a twisted family who targets strangers. Offbeat characters... and the dinner scene. Are all these coincidences? Or, or was Dan Akroid channeling his TCM nightmares when he wrote and directed this thing? He had full creative control.
