Would have been better in this order...

1.New York
2.Helsinki
3.Rome
4.Paris
5.Los Angeles

I think it was strange that the two english speaking episodes were together at the beginning. It would have felt more natural having one at the beginning and one at the end and having the most downbeat one at the end also didn't feel right to me.

Does anyone else think it would have been even better in a different order.

It was in order of time zone. It's called 'Night on Earth' so the film should start at sunset at end at sunrise, albeit in different parts of the world/simultaneously.

This was the only possible order in view of the film's premise.
