Jarmusch's lightest and most upbeat film (except for the last segment).
I found that except for the bleak final chapter this was lighter and funnier than anything else he has done and lacked his usual bleakness, the final episode was more his usual combination of funny and bleak. I thought that episodes two and four in particular were comic gold. It still managed to be distinctly Jarmusch however with his distinctive way of chronicling the mundane. I still appreciated the last chapter but it seemed to be the odd one out even though blindness and death featured in two of the other episodes, they were not nearly as downbeat as the last one though. This was the first Jarmusch film I have given a 9 to.
