I wouldn't rule out Scotty possibly telling her when he was taking her away, something like, "I'm an undercover cop. We gone bust this MF'ker, so stay cool."
He probably said that to the old man, too, when he was escorting him out as well.
As you notice, both of these characters didn't appear anymore after Scotty came aboard. Maybe he told them to keep their distance while he did what he had to do.
Just a thought.
