They should have gotten a prettier actress, Michelle Pfeiffer, Melanie Griffith, Rosanna Arquette? I'm not trying to be mean but Dana Delany is rather plain. You would think that a girl who hung out with high end drug dealers and rich foreign guys would be pretty.
shareI think Delany is an attractive actress, if not in the same league as Michelle Pfeiffer (who is?) but for some reason she was sporting a rather boyish bowl-cut haircut around this period, which is rarely flattering, and can only be pulled off well by black women and a few supermodels. If she'd worn her hair longer she'd have been much more attractive.
That said, I suspect she's aged much better than Melanie Griffith who has clearly been ravaged by too much plastic surgery and too many drinks and drugs during her youth. Her mother, Tippi Hedron, who is 28 years older, has managed to look much better despite now being in her 80s.
I agree with Harvey. Her only flaw was her hairstyle. She has DEFINITELY aged better than most hollywood actresses; she can easily date men in their early 30s if she wanted.

I have to disagree with you. Dana Delany is a very lovely woman and a fair actress. Perhaps your definition of "beauty" is skewed toward a certain type.

She's hot, and her body is fine too. But yes the haircut was shocking.. More than anything she looks so nerdy, and straight edge, I can't picture her as a druggie. Great movie though 9/10
shareI have to disagree. DD is more than lovely enough to fit this role. In fact, it strikes me how many movies try to shoe-horn models into roles simply to exploit their attractiveness, and it looks completely contrived. DD has beautiful eyes, and even if her total facial structure does not make her an unusually stunning beauty (there aren't that many), she's certainly believable as a beautiful woman in any scenario. The more believable (i.e., real-life-like) a film is supposed to be, the less likely it should feel the need to fall back on cheap theatrics like employing some model to portray a realistically lovely woman. Plus I don't know why the role even calls for it.
On top of that, films have budgets, so I'm not sure who could fill this somewhat sad role convincingly and within budget.
Respectfully, I can't disagree more strongly.
Dana Delany and the words 'rather plain' do not go together.
