Song Titles + Artists?

I know all the Enya songs, and thanks to the board here I finally got that great Charles Trenet "La Mer" tune, but I was wondering more about songs like the one that's playing during the "Slo-Mo" shower scene, and I think the scene where he's sleeping and there's all of the great photography of the traffic flying by on the freeway. I'm looking for the instrumental stuff. Any idea if those tracks are available anywhere??? I hate that a soundtrack was never released. What a shame.

Thanks!

Hi there, I´m trying to locate the title of that Enya song and I cant find it, can you help me?

reply

it's called On Your Shore.

:o)

charlottejosscasesy is right. However, there are two enya songs in the movie. On your shore is the first one when they're shown as little kids. The second one, when sara is boarding the plane at the end, is called Exile. Both songs can be found on Enya's first cd, Watermark, the one with Sail away(Orinoco flow). They are not, however, on her greatest hits cd, sadly enough.

The film also features the song Epona from Enya's debut album The Celts

Looking at the credits on the film (DVD) right now. Enya had, Exile, Epona,On your shore. "La Mer" by Charles Trenet. "I've had my moments" written by Gus Kahn and Walter Donaldson performed by Stephane Grapelli. "Do wah diddy" by manfred mann. "You drive me to distractions" by big world. "Wild thing" by seeds of love. "Aint that a shame" by Fats Domino. "Smoke Rings" by Stephane Grapelli. "Amazing Grace" by Pipes and drums and military band of the royal scots dragoon band. "Clouds" by Gus Kahn. Hope this helps others like it did me.

I know that Django Reinhardt does most of that French Jazz music in the movie but, like you, I only know about Enya and the other pop stuff. As to who did the score, that's anybody's guess. I'm curious about the name of the song that's playing when Steve is on his morning drive to work. I'm guessing that it's more Django but I can't seem to find out which one it is!
This is one soundtrack that should have been released. Instead, we get the soundtrack to "Fletch." Gross.

The song during his morning drive is "I've Had My Moments," by, as you guessed, Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grapelli: The Quintet of the Hot Club of France. You have to get about halfway through it before you recognize the part of the tune used in the movie, though. Enjoy!

A friend of mine and I were obsessed with the songs from this movie. We dreamed of a soundtrack, so for Christmas a few years ago he found the songs online and made a sountrack from (we think) the versions of the songs used in the film.

don't know if you found the song or not, but it is "Theme from Harry's Game" by Clannad, the are also a cletic group.

Hey guys!

I´m puzzled..., In which scenes do we hear Enya´s "Epona" and Clannad´s "Theme from Harry´s Game"?

"On Your Shore" and "Exile" I know where they are...

IMDb is an excellent resource which constantly gets better. To identify the music in L.A. Story, go to its IMDb page then scroll through QUICK LINKS [at the upper left corner of the page] to SOUNDTRACK LISTING. Many, if not all of the questions asked on this message board are answered here.

The next step is to go to IMDb's companion website - Amazon.com where, at reasonable cost, recordings of Charles Trenet's "La Mer", Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli group's ["Quintette du Hot Club de France"] recordings, as well as Manfred Man's "Do Wah Diddy, Diddy", Enya's recordings, and probably all of the other numbers can be acquired.

It is unfortunate that an L.A. Story soundtrack was never released, but one can assemble a personal soundtrack from Amazon.com's vendors. This has the advantage of containing a lot of additional music by the film's artists. I'm waiting for my first orders to arrive. Good luck and good listening
