Can't get the highway Joke, First day of spring, Open Season...., . Its probably because i'm a Brit,

I'll have a half double decaffeinated half-caf, with a twist of lemon.

This (IMO tasteless) joke referred to the rash of freeway shootings.

That's right, but the reason why the joke is relevent to the first day of spring is because it's the "opening" of the "season" :-)

It's also a satirical jab at the animosity that frequently occurs between drivers on overcrowded L.A. highways.

in the late 80's early 90's, there was a string of shootings on the L.A. freeway. I found this jab quite amusing.
