oh my god what a failure of a film

This has got to be the most uneven film I've ever seen, well its up there, or rather down there. They really should have picked a level of comedy, realism and absurdity. Each scene felt like it was from a different film. I'm normally a fan of Martin, who wrote this trash, but it was obvious he thinks here that he can be the west coast Woody Allen and he kinds of embarrasses himself here in trying. Bad, awful film.

i like it, i think it's very amusing. especially when they have the eqrthquake at lunch and nobody's that bothered, and the polite mugger saying 'I'lll be your robber' and when he says to Sandee 'your breasts feel strange' and she says 'oh, that's because they're real'. lots of funny lines.

I wouldn't say each scene feels like it's from a different movie but I do think the first half of the movie feels quite a bit different than the second half. The first half--which contains most of the establishing "LA" jokes--gets a bit nauseating to watch because of the speed at which it's all happening. Even the camerawork is frantic for the first 1/3 or so of the movie. I find myself wishing there would just be a static scene thrown in there somewhere so that my eyes and brain can have a chance to breathe!
