I can't bare watching a grown man act like a child, which Goodman dose beginning to end. Is it supposed to be funny/clever to roll bowling balls into priceless vases??

You obviously have no sense of the ridiculous, and shouldn't be wasting your time watching this type of movie in the first place.
I actually feel quite sorry for you...
Peter O'Toole was the straight man for John Goodman. If you watch the movie, you will see that Ralph does grow up, and O'Toole admits to wanting to follow in his footsteps because "You ( Ralph) are a good and decent man." The act of giving up the throne ( and all the trappings) to Charles ( O'Toole) because it is the best thing for England was a selfless act, and he gets rewarded for it with the castle in the Country but more important Miranda and Baby Ralph who one day will be King.
sharePlus you need to realize that Peter O'Toole was, at this point, no stranger at doing light comedies. He spent much of the 1980's following The Stunt Man and before The Last Emperor doing things that might have seemed beneath him, like the silly ghost yarn High Spirits. The Harold Ramis misfire ensemble Club Paradise. And the more distinguished but still light comedies are Creator and the best, My Favorite Year. So just realize, King Ralph is far more grown-up than Club Paradise and High Spirits. And there you have it.
