Agreed. This is one of Willis' best movies to date. Robbing a museum and timing the plan to "Swing On A Star" is pure genius.
shareThis film can only be truly loved by bruce willis fans, i for one loved it! i've no idea why it got slammed so much by critics.
shareYou can´t be serious !?!!?!!????? Did you just stated that (And I quote) "Robbing a museum and timing the plan to "Swing On A Star" is pure genius." ???? .. How is this genius ?? It´s so sad that some people doesn´t have higher standards then this.. Hollywood can continue to put out one crapy movie after another, people that consider "Hudson Hawk" genius are still gonna see everything and applaud wildly .. it´s makes me so sad ..
*hugz*
...genius is definitely going too far, but...
The other day I forced my girlfriend to watch La Regle du Jeu/The Rules of the Game and in return she forced me to watch Hudson Hawk. Rules is supposed to be one of the ten best films ever made. Hudson Hawk one of the worst. So why did I find Rules to be (as other posters have said) a stupid, boring, badly acted, Whitehall farce and Hudson Hawk a surprisingly entertaining exercise in post-modern blockblusting? Rules is constantly hitting you over the head with its message and its nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is. As for the Hawk, plenty wrong with it, not least Grant and Bernhard in an overacting contest, but it's no war crime. Take it expecting nothing and it's okay. I mean, it is from the guy who made Heathers after all.
Maybe if I was expecting Rules to be a turd and Hawk to be an all-time great my opinion would have been different, but if you held a gun to my head I know which one I'd see again.

Don't go in for all this "can't hollywood give us anything better than this" pretention-it depends on what you want. If I remember rightly, cinema is supposed to be a medium of entertainment, and this film is one of the most entertaining I've ever seen. I must have seen it 15 times and I still laugh like a kid all the way through it. Bruce is brilliant, and so is the film.
If you don't like this kind of thing, go watch the Godfather (also ace, but for different reasons obviously.)
