For Fellow Gamers

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the similarities between "Hudson Hawk" and the "Metal Gear Solid" series?

For example:
Hudson Hawk = Solid Snake
Both are brought out of retirement "one last time" because their specific talents are needed for infiltration missions. Both are basically tools of the goverment and their enemies. Everyone is setting them up.

George Kaplan = Revolver Ocelot
Both have alliances with other criminals for world dominiation but in some way are also connected with the government.

The Candy Bar Team = FOX HOUND
(This is my favorite.)
Think about it. The only thing that's different are animals instead of candy for code names.

The Mayflowers = Liquid or Solidus
World domination bent villians, using Hawk/Solid as the key ingredient in their scheme.

Tommy Five-Tone = Ninja
Both appear to be friends of Hudson/Solid, betray them, and then help them in the end.

Da Vinci's Gold Machine = METAL GEAR
World domination device.

Even jokes are similar. Hawk's cappuchinos are replaced by Solid's cigarettes. There's also a weird Decoy Octopus character when Hawk is in Italy.

There are so many more that I can't think of right now but notice when watching the movie. Of course, they could all just be cliche's that appear in every action movie and video game.

This is probably why there are Nintendo references in the movie

Yep... they're both just brimming with over cliched crap.
