Perfectly *beep* illustrated

It's amazing.

No matter how bad a film is it will always find its audience. There will always be a small group of fans who claim it as their cult classic.

No doubt there are people out there who hold Battlefield Earth, Highlander II and Gigli in equally high esteem.

I am a closet Bruce Willis fan but this is a BAD, BAD movie.

It's worse than Colour of Night and that's saying something.

yeah i watched it last night (Sunday channel 5) and i bet i wasnt alone. Everyone says its a bad film, a box office flop, panned by critics blah blah blah, but as soon as i see it was on, i still programmed it into my sky reminders, two great scenes, the auction house robbery for the horse at the beginning, and to watch Bunny the dog get leap for its ball and fly out the window. "Oh Bunny, Ball Ball".

lol....yes - channel 5 can really pick 'em!!! They can always be relied on for consistently being crap!
I know what you mean. When I saw it was on I just HAD to watch it. Like a car-crash! I am drawn to bad movies just out of curiousity. I want to see how bad it really is!
When ITV showed Battlefield Earth I only lasted until the first commercial break but I wish I'd gone all the way. Likewise with Highlander 2.
You kinda hope that these films will be so bad that they're actually good! But they always turn out to be just plain BAD!
I reckon channels buy them cos they're cheap and they reckon they'll get ratings from people like us who want to see them for a laugh.
Yes. turkeys are great in their own way.
Beverly Hills Cop 3 - painful to watch.
Inspector Clouseau - Jesus!!!
Bonfire of the Vanities - not as bad as made out but still pretty crap.
I have yet to see Gigli, The Avengers and Batman and Robin but I will keep an eye on the TV schedules.

Y'know, the "so bad its good" comment is true. I noticed as i was looking through The Suns TV Mag last night they had rated Hudson Hawk four stars out of four, the same rating was also given to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, El Dorado (john wayne, robert Mitchum)shown the same day & they awarded mondays film Tom Cruise's Days of Thunder only two stars. Dont Figure. I guess somebody at TV Mag likes this movie also.

I agree with muzzaufoz. The thing is, however, that these movies are NOT (yes I said it) NOT bad. Their entertaining. Short and simple entertainment. Isn't that what most people look for. Fair enough some people like the hard nitty gritty action packed part thriller part oh my God this is so harsh movies but at the end of the day I like something that's light, entertaining and well....a bit corny. Makes a difference from all the serious movies that come out sometimes. Thats the difference between Hudson Hawk and all the other movies listed in this thread (Highlander II, Days of Thunder, etc). Its funny. I myself wanna get the DVD. Speaking of which I have even gone on to buy Super Mario Bros, The Pest, Joe's Apartment to name but a few entertaining movies.

Needless to say I also like my serious movies along with the list afore mentioned I also bought (and NO ONE has even heard of this movie its ridiculous) Empire Of The Sun with Christian Bale acting when he was twelve.

So.....GO FIGURE....

reply

yes but for me hudson hawk was entertaining because it was so bad. not corny.....just plain awful. not what the makers intended. I came close to giving up on it and would never watch it again.

each to their own though. I'd rather watch a turkey like hawk than sit through most of the garbage they put on tv.

Three reasons I like this movie (thus my user name, which is also an amalgam of where I grew up and my favorite sports team):

1. I always root for the underdog, and have a fondness for big, expensive movies that don't do well (Waterworld and Treasure Planet are others).

2. I have a weird fascination with it. I watch it and can't believe it was greelighted, filmed, and released. (Seriously, who at the controls thought it was a good idea to include a line about microwave sushi?) It's like a natural disaster - I can't look away. I would love to have been on the set of this one.

3. Bruce's last line is pretty funny - "Yeah, that's probably what happened!"

"Ruth! Ruth! Bab-EE Ruth!"

could not have said it better daveamit... it's for the entertainment!
this particular movie SO doesn't take itself seriously that I appreciate it even more. That ofcourse and it's like a teddybear or a fireplace.. I like the sympathy it radiates. I am a sucker for sympathetic movies.. like The Core (scifi, entering ehm middle earth) Or Green Fingers (about prison gardening to sell a story short)

i'm always suspicious of the "doesn't take itself seriously" angle. that's kind of like the guy who openly admits that he's an a ssh ole, and thinks that admitting it makes it okay.

This movie is not that bad! I think it's cool (for me, yes! I don't know you guys' feelings!). The toppest reason I watch this movie is because "Kit Kat"!
