How much better is the Special Edition?
After seeing a review of the original, infamously bad version of the film, I was wondering how much better the Special Edition is. Is it worth a rental or is it still dreadful?

that stands by itself. In the cinema cut is said the immortals came from a planet called Zeist, and were trapped on Earth as a kind of punishment. In this version, all references of aliens were eliminated: now the Immortals come from a distant past of the Earth, from an ancient civilization that deal with magic and technology, and sentencing the Immortals to fight each other through the ages. The movie is by far the best sequel of "Highlander". There's a cool art direction (similar to Blade Runner), cool fight scenes, Quicklening explosions, badass villain, crazy story, and Ramirez is back!
