One Last Tweak To Fix It All

As I watch "Highlander 2" for what seems the 100th time, I realize that if the producers and director wished to truly redeem that God-awful storyline, here is how they might go about it:

Don't place them in the distant past or planet Zeist. Place them in the distant future where General Katana can have come from Zeist and taken control of the planet. The priests, who do not believe in death because they, like Katana, are immortal Zeistians, then go ahead and banish the Earth rebels, declaring the Game's victor can either grow old and die or await the coming of Katana. Katana has the Priests killed and a scene is shown of him sending the Kurgan into the past.

We see Katana watching a video transmission of Connor winning the Game, thus, killing the Kurgan. There is nothing else after this so Katana naturally assumes Connor is still immortal, waiting for the Zeist invasion. Katana then sends the two warriors to kill the Highlander.

- I'm an optimistic fool who thinks this could be fixed by one simple day of filming with good ole Michael Ironside and a new voice over for the Priest Scene.

This movie is the ultimate example in misguided and bad decisions being made at every step of the way, from the very first thought of even making a Highlander sequel all the way to the meaningless attempts made years later to change it, and try to make it even tolerable. It still isn't at all tolerable in either of it's revised forms. It is one of the the worst films of all time, and there is nothing that could fix it short of tracking down every copy of it in existence and destroying them, and then just letting time do the rest of the work, as the human race slowly forgets that it was ever made.
