So whats the difference...
... between the original cut and the Renegade Edition?
shareIt's been forever since I watched the Renegade Cut, but all references to Zeist were removed, even though most of the Zeist footage is still there. It's just the dialogue is altered so now they're way in the past, rather than on another planet. We have to ignore the firearms and crashed spaceship of course.
Yeah, it's still a mess. lol

Why should we ignore the spaceship and firearms ?? It's supposed to be a very advanced civilization, they use time travel... I don't see how it's a mess, it is explained in Highlander 1 that the Prize gives you an infinite knowledge and wisdom. And Connor used it to build the Shield. So imagine an entire society using this power ? Of course they would have many advenced technology. And it's revealed in The Source that this civilization was totally wiped out, that's why nobody knows about it in the present, except in legends, because the judges who banish McLeod and Ramirez were the "gods", the one because of whom you cannot fight on holy grail.

16 minutes of restored footage, scenes in their proper chronological order, all references to Zeist are changed with 'a distant past'.
thats pretty much it. its too many differences scene by scene, to actually give you a full detailed list.
16 minutes of restored footage
Ha!
Thanks for the replies folks.
Just watched Renegade version. It's the only version Netflix offers. I haven't seen the original version for a long time but, aside from the removal of the "other planet" theme, I couldn't tell much of a difference. I think this may be the worst sequel of all time. If there was ever a movie they should have let stand alone, Highlander was it.
The Renegade Version is way better than the other sequels.
