Am I the only one who thinks the ridiculous alien backstory in this movie resembles a lot to the "teachings" of $cientology?

Alien beings are exciled from a planet by an intergalactic tyrant. Their "souls" are transferred to Earth, where they are reborn in the bodies of humans throughout history. Sounds familiar?

I wouldn't say that too loud, Tom Cruise will have you sued, silenced, fined and possibly jailed.

Maybe that's how they could have made 'sense' of the film. Claim it was all based on the writings of L. Ron Hubbard.
