It would've made a lot more sense if the immortals came from the future instead of the past. They had superior technology, SPOKE FREAKING ENGLISH, presumably evolved the ability to be immortal, and it sounds really awkward that being sent to the future is a punishment.
This movie is monumentally bad no matter what version you watch but that still would have made at least slightly more sense.

Sending people to the past where they would be superior to the average human, and not to mention could alter the timeline and prevent certain events from happening. But then we enter the confusing paradox theory.

I think it would definitely improve the film. Plus having their memory erased/alternate memories inplanted before being sent back would fix the plot hole of Connor not knowing who Ramirez was in part 1
With what they have done with Paul walker in f&f7 I would like to think cgi and shooting with doubles could fix this movie but doubt it will ever happen
