Hearts of Darkness DVD is cut to pieces!!!!!!!

I just got back from the states with a copy of Hearts Of Darkness on DVD, that I found in Virgin Megastore, having been searching for it for ages. I remember watching the VHS version years ago, and have been anticipating this release for years. Guess what, its cut to pieces.
A couple of the glaring differnces are the footage/stills or harvey keitel have been completely ommited. And most annoyingly, the 10 minute section towards the end focus entirely on the recording of the VO has been completely chopped out. Interviews cut short, and some of the unused Brando footage has dissappeard aswell.
Complete disappointment. Dont bother.

absolutely, i've had a blast listening to him complain. he can't tell his head from his behind and keeps getting confused and apparently perfers to keep in hiding - but then, that's what people with big mouths often do, imagine if they actually had to stand up to their words......

What would political correctness have to do with it?

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

I don't see why political correctness would involve cutting footage about the narration or about Harvey Keitel's performance as Willard.

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

That's too bad. I saw it last night and thought it was excellent, but I would have loved to see the scenes you're talking about.

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

yeah i wish i had seen those scenes myself.

i purchased a vhs copy at an amoeba record store a while back and those scenes were not included. however they sound quite interesting

i like that the 2007 dvd has commentary by francis ford coppola that "clears many things up."

that sounds to me like hes just trying to backtrack on all the crazy stuff he said

but i dont care i think it depicts it with all the more sensationalism. love love love this movie
