Don't like the new re issue video box

The stupid makers of the video have the video box make it look like Thandie Newton is Flirting with Nicole Kidman by the look on her face. Is it just me seeing this? I think it's rather insulting to Thandie Newton who's a great actress as well. I realize from another posting on the board they are trying to sell this video by showing Nicole Kidman bigger. But from looking on the box you think it's Thandie Newton trying to get the attention of Nicole Kidman's character. UGH. Something about it seems rather racist. Maybe thats not the intent but that's how I view it.

I have to agree with the OP, but for a different reason. I don't like it because it betrays the movie inside. This is a rather dark, meloncholy film, but the cover makes it look like a peppy, light-hearted teen romp of a movie about two teenage girls. A much better cover would've been a picture from a scene between Danny and Thandawaie, or a still of Danny on the rock at the end.

i agree but i base my opinion on absolutly nothing.

"somebody needs to teach him the difference between hospitality and hospitalize"

Nicole was on the original cover box anyway. And it does get people to see the picture because Nicole is probably one of the biggest names in the biz and has one fo the most recognizable faces...unless youve been living under a rock in Siberia. And I agree that Nicole has a MUCH BIGGER name than Thandie. Not to undermine Thandie's work but she is NO COMPARISON.

i didnt exactly see it as racist. . .but it is marketed horribly because nicole has very little to do with the story. and the cover makes the movie seems completly different than what the movie is in actuality.

i hate how marketers feel that everyone wants to see a certain type of movie. we dont! we just want to fill up some time.

I should eat more, or I will end up like Mary Kate Olsen. Anorexics Inflate!

Thandie was the STAR of the movie and I think it's insulting that Kidman is protrayed as the star when she only had a small role in the movie.

but whats worse is that Noah was completly missing from the cover, i mean he is the MAIN CHARACTER!! i dunno, i dont mind nicole being on the cover, because i have to say, when i saw the movie, i was happy to see nicole as a child, and i enjoyed seeing her in the movie. but it is a disgrace to not put the main character on the cover, the cover makes it seem like thandie is flirting with nicole.

I agree -- the cover is betraying. Noah and Thandie should have been on the cover more than Nicole. She could have been in the background, possibly including Noah's friend in the movie also? I don't know -- it reminds me a little of the "Scream" cover where Drew Barrymore appears to be the main character? Eh, whatever. It was a good movie, much better than the first one, I think, and the box doesn't do it justice.

Thank you! I am also not a fan of the new video box, the title text in particular. It makes it look like a bubblegum, generic teen comedy.

Doesn't seem racist to me, but it does create a false illusion.
It makes it seem like it's a movie abut these two girls, either flirting with each other or being friends and flirting with boys together.

I think Noah and Thandie should have been on the cover and maybe Nicole either in the background or on the back of the case. I realize she's probably a bigger name than the stars are, but in that movie she doesn't play a huge part.
I mean, if she's highlighted, they might as well highlight the stars' friends because they played just as big a part (if not bigger) as Nicole, but they aren't highlighted.
