Flirting - Ibsen?

Nicola reminds me a bit of Hedda Gabler. A woman ina strict soceity who keeps up apperances. On the surface she seems like a prude and a snob, but she's much more. She certainly has sexual desires that surprise our progressive heroin. I could be way off. Or maybe I just really want a film adaptation of Hedda Gabler with Kidman in the title role.

Any thoughts?

Shameless bump as I posted this many years ago.

I think that character is an archetype.

People often see archetypes present in two separate works of fiction as evidence of influence or dialogue between them. In reality, the vast majority of the characters you encounter in fiction are unoriginal.

I haven't read that Ibsen play so that's all I can contribute.
