Where is their great house?
The house in this movie is my ultimate DREAM house - it's beautiful! Does anyone know where it is? In California?
Does anyone know if they used the interiors in the film?

I loved the house, too. As a matter of fact I live in a Father of the Bride type neighborhood in a section called Avondale - filled large 1920's style homes in Jacksonville, FL.
The Father of the Bride house is located at 843 S. El Molino Ave., Pasadena, CA. If you can find it online you will notice they made some changes to the exterior for the movie.
I feel the same way you do about the house in Father of the Bride. It is located at 843 S. El Molino Ave., Pasadena, CA. You may be able to find it online as I did (but can't remember the site)... go to Google search engine and type in film locations and the name of the movie. Wish I could find some interior shots! I liked the decorating as well.
You can go to HGTV.com and find some information about the house used in the film Father of the Bride. It is now owned by Darrell and Sarah Spence (843 S. El Molino Ave.-Pasadena, CA.) Some of the exterior is a facade (fence, columns, etc.) When the Spences moved in they found the interior of the house was torn up to accommodate filming the movie and therefore, they had to completely renovate. There are a couple of photos on the HGTV site if you're interested.
shareI was watching the movie Enough on TV a few weeks ago, and noticed that Jennifer Lopez goes to a house EXACTLY like the one in Father of the Bride. I wonder if it is the same one?
shareI just recently watched Enough and they're the same STYLE house, but not the same house. The one in Enough is much bigger.

One of the nicest homes i have seen in a movie..(not over-done either) :)
I DID love Brian's parents house more though

drove past it today...it is gorgeous! if anyone is familiar with pasadena...take the LAKE exit south off the 134 and follow that down until it turns in oak knoll. about a few blocks down you will see molino...take a right and the house is on the left hand side! beautiful fence, flowers and everything!
sharei've walked by the house a few times, it's gorgeous!
shareSan Marino in Ca.
share[EDIT] Sorry, I was mixed up! While Father of the Bride does take place in San Marino, the actual houses are not located in San Marino. Although they are in neighboring cities.
They used two different houses. One for the exteriors in Pasadena. And another one in Alhambra for the backyard.
The Alhambra house went on the market not too long ago. About 3 or 4 years ago. I wish I could have bought it! It sold for around $1.2 million.
It is a beautiful piece of property. I have always admired it. The property next door has also been used in films like Thirteen Days with Kevin Costner, that was about the Cuban Missile Crisis. That next door house, while it used to be a beautiful property needs a lot of work. They were trying to sell that property for $2 million. Sh'yeah right! It need six figures worth of repairs.
Back on topic. The Pasadena house is located at 843 South El Molino Ave, Pasadena, Ca.
The Alhambra house is located at 500 North Almansor Dr. Alhambra Ca.
