He has a point. I recently bought a pack of 4 hotdogs and could only find a pack of 6 buns which means I have 2 left over. I have considered myself, going on hot dog related rampage

reply

The funny thing is he's only buying 8 hot dogs yet removes 4 buns from two 12 packs which leaves him with 16 buns altogether.

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!

reply

Each package of buns came in 12. Each package of hot dog wieners came in 8. If he'd been in a more rational state of mind, he could have bought 2 packages of buns, and 3 packages of wieners. 24 buns, 24 wieners. That way, there'd be plenty left over later, if it wasn't all consumed at dinner. And he would have saved himself all that trouble. And when his wife gave him that stern lecture at the jail scene, she wasn't saying he had to like Brian (groom-to-be). But she did expect him to respect his daughter's choice/feelings. She probably had mixed feelings too, about letting her daughter go, but she was more level and mature about the whole thing.

reply

Absolutely! The three wiener to two bun packet ratio is one if the most talked about things on here especially since it's highly unlikely 8 wieners would have been enough in the first place anyway.

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

That's right. Better to have more than less. They could have more left over for the next day if they wanted. He was arrested and jailed because he was opening packages and removing food from them...without paying for them first (This constitutes shoplifting). After you pay for the items, you can do whatever you want with them.

reply

He does have a point. They should sell 8 Hotdog buns instead of 12 so that you don't have to buy 24 hotdogs and 24 hotdog buns when you don't need that many! It's completely stupid they do that!

reply

Don't you have fresh bread shops in America where you can by the exact number of rolls that you need?

reply

Not everywhere in the U.S. Also generally freshly baked bread from a bakery in a store like I work in at Kroger is more expensive than just buying buns. But I was wrong. Most places now sell hot dog buns in packs of 8 now. I admit my comment was kind of dumb since I prefer using a regular piece of bread for hotdogs since every time I use a hotdog bun it falls apart on me. Was more speaking for those who like hotdog buns. Then again maybe they did sell 8 packs back then and all the 8 packs of buns that George wanted were sold out. Or he was too stressed out to notice the packs of 8.
