does vincent d'onofrio have a big role in this fim? thanks

He plays the best friend of the main male character. Not really a big role.

Actually, he plays the guy who tries to steal Hilary away from Victor. Kinda important role, but not really.

Well he did until the film was run for a test audience. Gordon was supposed to be Hillary's other lover, but the audiences who screened this version got really upset that Hillary would cheat on a man with cancer (even though Gordon is basically a nice if inarticulate working guy), so there went VD'O's bigger role in this film

In the book, Hilary did cheat on Victor; she had sex with Gordon, who was wonderfully understanding and told her she was simply in love with two men at the same time, no big deal.
