shareI love the soundtrack too. I liked the movie but bought it mainly for the soundtrack. Julia Roberts' performance is outstanding and she is matched perfectly with Campbell Scott (who is the son of the late George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst).

The theme music of the movies is incredibly beautiful ! love it it's more beautiful than all musics have won oscar ever
I saw this movie yesterday on the Fox Movie Channel (without commercials). It is pretty good as long as the viewer accepts that it is a romance which also involves a terrible disease.
SPOILERS
Some things that I liked about the film.
- Julia Roberts did a good job in a role which had a wide range of emotions. You can see from this early movie why she continues to be a successful actress.
- The patient shows Julia pictures of several paintings. And I was quite surprised how similar Julia looked compared to the women in those works of art. I thought that was an interesting twist to a romantic story where a man is fascinated by paintings which happen to have beautiful redheaded women (and is also writing a thesis about this). And so he hires Julia's character who resembles these women!
- The romance blossoms in Mendocino California. That is a beautiful place that I visited twice. The setting really helped the film.
- The story doesn't try to do too much. No one is beat up. No one is trying to kill anybody. It's just a story of two people connecting with each other. That was a nice change of pace from the many romantic thrillers that have been done.

it's just in my humble opinion - imho -
