Hilary and Victor are leaving the house and going to the hospital. The camera moves through the empty house. Even though it is December 26 and cold, we can see the curtains billowing through the open front windows!
I don't believe it was a goof; I believe it was intentionally done for the symbolism.
The breeze symbolizes reality. The drafty windows that Gordon sealed symbolized the reality and hope that Victor was sealing himself from. The open windows display that Victor (and Hilary) have embraced reality, both of Victor's health and of their relationship, as well as the hope for both.
On another topic, any of you know the name of the bad 80's song that is playing while Julia Roberts is sitting with mayonnaise in her hair, waxing her upper lip, before she and Victor go out? This would GREATLY help the collection of obscure songs I am compiling!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
"Save Some Love" by Keedy, I think. I wasn't able to actually hear it but I googled the words I could hear followed by "lyrics" and that's what I got back. The CD is on amazon.com but sound clips weren't available.
Maybe I totally misinterpreted it, but I thought it meant that it was actually a few months later and he had obviously lived. You notice that everything was greening up outside? I thought it meant spring.
