Is it supposed to be a reference to Grace Kelly in 'To Catch a Thief'?
"I'm going crazy. I'm standing here solidly on my own two hands and going crazy."
I've never heard anything about it. I simply always thought it was a stunning gown and meant to make Hilary look somewhat virginal/innocent despite quite the opposite for the character (though that's not fully addressed in the movie).
