Ive always like this movie too, give it a 9.

I completely agree, I've always felt this was an underrated movie. When it came out and people found out it had Ed O'neil as the star everyone thought it was going to be "Married...With Children: The Movie" and were kinda disappointed that it wasn't. Ed does a good job playing this role as does everyone in this movie and I give it an 8 1/2 out of 10.

I have always regarded it as a 10. I will admit that I adore John Hughes movies and to me, this one is one of his greatest. John knew how to "reach me" at just the right level of humor. The relationship between Ed and Ethan was amazing. Actually Ethan has Credited Ed with being like a second father and teaching him "everything he knows". Frankly I think that point comes through in the movie. Hughes had an amazing ability to find just the right people for his films.
