I'm not particularly a fan of this movie, but it's fun to see the Minneapolis settings. It's even more funny imagining Carrie Fischer living on a ferry. Those boats are sweat-houses and the smell of the Mississippi is... well... not great.

I like Rik Mayall better in the comic Strip or Bottom. Phoebe Cates seemed to have fun in this.

Rik Mayall was fine in Bottom, but I think his other roles like Rick from The Young Ones or Alan B'Stard (a particularly vicious Tory politician) in The New Statesman were also great. Oh, and don't forget his cameos in Blackadder as Lord Flashheart!
