Polly's prison sentence
So far, I've got her on child cruelty and possibly mental and spousal abuse. How long do you think she would serve in prison for her escapades in the film?
shareLegally, Polly didn't do anything wrong as a mother. She did not physically hit her husband or Elizabeth, and she didn't physically neglect Elizabeth, either. By physically neglect, I mean did not starve Elizabeth. Polly fed and clothed her and gave her shelter. The only thing she did wrong was downsize Elizabeth and manipulate her and Elizabeth's dad. Unfortunately, there is no prison sentence for mental abuse.
