I think maybe people are rating it as it's merits as film, aka acting (which I think wasn't that bad) and the story etc.
...rather formulaic/usual revenge flick.
In it's own category, as an martial arts action film it's very good and entertaining actually.
Now I have to admit that I first rated it a 5...now with 2nd viewing..after becoming a JCVD fan I changed my rating to 6 and am considering of 7...
And I'm ashamed of my low ratings for this genre. :)
