I was wondering about the bird tattoo on Eddie's hand, I work in a shop and I've recently seen a few men with a bird on their hand too, I know what River says about it in the film, but do you know if a lot of guys had this tattoo in the army/navy etc?

i seen a man on da bus wiv that tatoo as well i think it was jus the cool thing round dat time.now guyz have like dragonz on der calves n galz get dem lower bk tatoos i jus fink it was fashion!
but not sure.
