Birdlace and Rose

I just saw this movie for the 2nd time on the IFC channel this past weekend and I had forgotten how beautiful it was! The first time I saw it was about 6 years ago and it was late at night so I didn't really pay much attention to the details but I remembered that it was a nice movie. But this time when I saw it, I was blown away! Too bad River is no longer with us, he was an awesome actor and Lili Taylor was amazing as well! What a refreshing love story. Nice to see this callous young marine fall helplessly in love with this shy idealistic girl, especially during the beginning of the Vietnam War. Loved the ending too, like to think these two finally found happiness together and got married and had lots of kids!!
