Why did she ....

Hey everyone. Dogfight is one of my favorite River movies and believe me, I've seen it PLENTY of times but each time I watch it I get disappointed in Rose's character for sleeping with him that night she met him! Anyone feel like that too

I cant say I was ever disappointed .... to me I thought it was a sweet thing they shared before he went off to war.

Yeah, I wasn't ever dissapointed at that.
I, too thought it was sweet that just a few hours earlier he was just trying to win money by asking her out.. =]

reply

Yeah, I was disappointed too, and whilst I think she would not have regretted meeting Birdlace and getting to know him, I think she may well have regretted sleeping with him.

does anyone know what river whispers in rose's ear during the luv making scene can't figure it out??????? PS i love this movie everything including rose's decision, who wouldn't take that opportunity..one of river's best along with 'i love u 2 death'!!!!!!!!

reply

Heh, I completely agree. Couldn't have said it better myself. The love making scene was beautiful and real, and they were very much in love during it. True, they had only known each other for few hours, but then again he was going to the war in Vietnam the day after. So yes, I too think it was good for Rosie!

you said it all rikki

reply

LMAO Rikki! You are so right though! You really put it all into perspective. When would Rose get another Birdlace in her life?

No, i think that having sex with somebody you like a lot, and even falling in love with, is completly normal thing to do.

Trust me - there are lots of unattractive girls that will give it up to the first good-looking man that comes their way. I think she realized that her time with him was short and that they made a connection that she would never find again that one special night.

So no, there's no reason anyone should be disappointed in Rose.
